A sweet new addition is debuting this month at La Cantera.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is opening its first-ever San Antonio location at 15900 La Cantera Parkway, Suite 7751, on Thursday, July 23.
The Columbus, Ohio-based chain’s grand opening celebrations will feature free scoops for patrons, and gifts of Jeni’s merchandise for the first 50 people in line.
A drawing will also decide which five grand opening attendees win free ice cream for a year. Guests who want to enter the giveaway must sign up for the Jeni’s rewards app and scan it during the event.
Ice cream fans familiar with Jeni’s flavor lineup, which includes confections such as gooey butter cake and brambleberry crisp, can expect similar options at the San Antonio store. Seasonal flavors for this summer include hibiscus-chili crisp, campfire s’mores and strawberry-pretzel pie — and the store will offer the Ted Lasso-inspired Biscuits with the Boss flavor.
Jeni’s also offers non-dairy flavors such as peppermint patty and banana cream pudding.
Founded by James Beard Award winner Jenni Britton in 2002, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams has since expanded with nearly 100 locations across 15 states. Until now, the closest Jeni’s scoop shop has been in Austin. However, pints have been available in San Antonio at some grocers.
