Controversial rapper Kanye West will perform Saturday, July 4, at the Alamodome, according to a cryptic post shared late Sunday night by the city-owned venue.
“Ye live in San Antonio,” read the post, which was made close to midnight. The text was so discreet and minimal, and the announcement so sudden, that it had many local fans questioning the news in disbelief.
Though the Alamodome’s homepage has since been taken over by the Kanye announcement, the venue has provided little additional information, including when tickets go on sale or how much they cost.
For now, fans must register on a tour page provided by Yeezy, which also states that a few lucky pre-registrants will be selected to receive free tickets.
Yeezus is not without his share of controversies, having tweeted only a year ago that he is a literal Nazi who “loves Hitler.”
However, some fans shrug it off by saying that’s just Kanye being Kanye and making absurd statements to get attention. Others argue that West should seek treatment.
Last year’s meltdown was only one of several over the years.
In 2022, West made a series of antisemitic statements, resulting in the termination of his collaborations with Vogue, Universal Music Group, Balenciaga, Gap, Adidas and more.
In January of this year, West took out an ad in the Wall Street Journal apologizing for his antisemitic remarks, which he said stemmed from manic episodes.
In the open letter, the performer said he was “deeply mortified by [his] actions” and pledged “accountability, treatment, and meaningful change.” He also denied being an antisemite and said he had “lost touch with reality.”

Due to his unpredictability and public outbursts, ex-wife Kim Kardashian is reportedly no longer on speaking terms with West while co-parenting their four children. Instead, the two communicate through a network of nannies and bodyguards, according to Vanity Fair.
Despite being a polarizing figure, albums like 2004’s breakout debut The College Dropout, 2007’s Graduation, 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and 2011’s studio collab with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne, are nearly ubiquitous in pop culture.
West is currently touring behind his 2026 album Bully. The album features guest appearances from Travis Scott, CeeLo Green and Peso Pluma.
Other stops on the so-far limited — and apparently random — tour schedule include stops in Madrid; Tampa, Florida; Tirana, Albania; Algarve, Portugal; and two dates in the artist’s hometown of Chicago.
Why San Antonio? And why follow it with the capital of Albania?
One thing is for sure, if it’s Kanye, shenanigans are afoot. Prepare for off-the-wall commentary and bizarre antics.
