Morrissey coming to San Antonio (unless he cancels)

Morrissey, the iconic and controversial former crooner for The Smiths, will play Boeing Center at Tech Port on Thursday, May 8, according to the venue.

That is, unless he cancels.

The venue ticket presale starts Tuesday, Feb. 4 at noon with the password Suedehead, according to an Instagram post from Boeing Center. Tickets become available to the general public at noon on Friday, Feb. 7.

Over the years, Morrissey has canceled or stopped shows for a variety reasons, including hecklers, the errant waft of grilling meat hitting his delicate nostrils at Coachella and even if he gets too many hugs.

A longtime and outspoken vegan, Morrissey has also required venues to abstain from serving meat while he performs. Boeing Center’s food court boasts burgers, barbecue, sushi and other potentially offending items so let’s see how they handle this — or if Moz will let a slider slide this time.
