Austin-based chain Hopdoddy Burger Bar is celebrating the launch of its third San Antonio location with a food giveaway and a patio party.

When the new store at 11267 Huebner Road opens this Tuesday, the first 100 guests in line will receive a scratch-off ticket offering prizes such as free cheeseburgers for a year, free shakes, gift cards, Hopdoddy swag and more, according to company officials. Doors officially open at 11 a.m.

If you can’t work an early-week burger run into the schedule, fret not.

The new Hopdoddy will throw a grand-opening patio party Saturday, March 21, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., officials also said. Guests will get their first margarita, beer or nonalcoholic lemonade for free, and they’ll also be able to spin a prize wheel to win more goodies.

The patio party will include live music from Lone Star Revelry, along with beer and additional swag from Twisted X Brewery.

SA’s other two Hopdoddy locations are at the Rim and in the Vineyard Shopping Center in Stone Oak. The chain has expanded rapidly since its 2020 launch, opening locations in four additional states.

The brand is known for fresh-made burgers with ethically sourced meats — the name Hopdoddy is a fun nod to beer hops and Black Angus cattle. In addition burgers, the menu includes fried chicken sandwiches, shareable fries, loaded Brussels sprouts, shakes and cocktails.
