U.S. News and World & World Report this week ranked San Antonio’s Hotel Emma as Texas’ best hotel, marking the second time the Pearl property has won the distinction.

The magazine praised Emma — the only hotel in the city to earn a revered Two Key Michelin Guide rating — for its high-end amenities, superb service and excellent cuisine.

“Visitors marvel at the refined industrial elements featured throughout — particularly in the lobby – and are equally impressed with the quality of the accommodations,” U.S. News wrote. “Guests report rooms to be exceptionally styled and comfortable, thanks to amenities like flat-screen TVs, plush beds, Frette linens and luxury bathrobes.”

U.S. News analyzed 31,000 properties across the United States, Europe, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean to compile its list, ranking hotels based on industry awards, star ratings, travel write-ups and guest reviews.

The 146-room Hotel Emma, housed in the old Pearl Beer brewhouse, was ranked the 19th best hotel in the U.S. overall, a decline of six spots compared to last year’s list.

Here are the top Texas hotels on this year’s list:

  1. Hotel Emma, San Antonio
  2. The Joule, Dallas
  3. Hotel Crescent Court, Dallas
  4. The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas
  5. Four Seasons Hotel, Houston
