A man has gone viral on Reddit for protesting near U.S. Highway 281 in San Antonio holding a large anti-Nazi sign that depicts billionaire Elon Musk giving his now-infamous post-inauguration salute.

Though there’s been much debate over the meaning of Musk’s stiff-arm gesture, this lone demonstrator’s placard makes it clear what he thinks it represented. The design features Musk, who heads President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, flanked by two swastikas, both crossed out.

The unknown man’s sign — worn strapped over his neck sandwich board-style — asks passing drivers, “Is this what you wanted? Is this who you are? Will you be silent?”

Posted over the weekend to r/SanAntonio, the image has received more 27,500 upvotes and nearly 1,000 comments as of press time Monday evening.

Many of the comments express admiration for the man. Some call him “a true patriot.” Other commenters confirmed spotting him off of the feeder for Highway 281 at Oak Shadows Drive and said they honked to show support.

“I actually stopped and went and shook his hand and told him he was doing good work,” Reddit user Paulswhite said.

Others commenters suggested bringing the protester food and water if he returns.

“He should have hundreds there beside him,” another person wrote.
