San Antonio’s Six Flags Fiesta Texas has adopted a new curfew rule to curb bad behavior by teens, park officials said Friday.
Under the policy, visitors under the age of 15 who wish to be admitted after 4 p.m. must be accompanied by an adult 21 or older. That chaperone can oversee no more than 10 youths.
Six Flags officials said they created the rule to prevent incidents of “unruly and inappropriate behavior,” which have spiked in recent years at amusement parks and entertainment venues. The rule, which went into effect last week, applies to all Six Flags parks.
“This policy is being put in place to ensure that all guests have the best time ever and leave happy and eager to visit again,” Fiesta Texas said in a statement.
Under the new policy, chaperones must present a physical copy of their photo ID, and they must remain in the park during the duration of the visit by the teens they oversee. Chaperones also must have access to a cell phone for the duration of the stay.
