The San Antonio Film Festival, the largest event of its kind in South Texas, opens next Tuesday, bringing six days of films from around the world packaged in an approachable experience.

Filmmaking is an insular world in which contacts are paramount. SAFILM understands this and intentionally crafts an environment that fosters both creativity and mentorship.

By commingling filmmakers, actors, industry professionals, emerging filmmakers, students and cinephiles in one locale, opportunities for the pure enjoyment of the medium and meaningful one-on-one networking abound.

Sure, there are screenplay workshops, educational panels and networking events for pros and aspiring pros, but those don’t overshadow six days packed with feature films, shorts and documentary screenings, solidifying SAFILM’s impetus: an unadulterated love of the craft.

A full schedule is available online, as well as detailed information about badge levels.

$49.99 to $139.99, 10 a.m.-12 a.m. daily Tuesday, July 21-Sunday, July 26, Radius Center, 106 Auditorium Circle #120, (210) 885-5888, safilm.com.
