San Antonio spirits enthusiasts can have it both ways at Whiskey Business, sponsored by the Current.
Having celebrated a decade of fun in 2025, Whiskey Business is back for an 11th year at the Witte Museum on Friday, Aug. 21. Tickets to the event, which runs 8-11 p.m., are available online in both general admission and VIP tiers.
For first-timers, Whiskey Business is about more than just scotch and bourbon. The event showcases the best of Texas spirits, in addition to highlighting local San Antonio restaurants serving up the best bites — a necessity after all the whiskey samples.
The event takes over the entire Witte Museum campus — from the dinosaur galleries to the outdoor grounds. Each ticket tier grants guests access to unlimited food and drink samples, in addition to live music acts, local vendors, and the opportunity to connect with other whiskey connoisseurs.
Not a fan of whiskey? Beer and wine vendors also participate.
This year’s vendors include Ranger Creek, Chapline Distillery, Maverick Whiskey, Bending Branch Winery and many more.
So what’s the difference between general admission and VIP tickets? Besides the fun swag bags for VIP guests, the premium ticket tier also has one other major benefit — a chance to access the event one hour early.
The lines tend to form very quickly at Whiskey Business, so VIP access is a guaranteed way to get ahead of the crowds and start sampling. VIP ticket holders also receive access to a rare spirit sampling, a Whiskey Business rocks glass, complimentary valet parking, access to the Sipping Sessions seminar and an exclusive VIP lounge.
General admission ticket holders get unlimited food and drink samples, access to the Sipping Sessions seminars and the live music. VIP entry begins at 7 p.m., while general admission begins at 8 p.m.
Make sure to dress accordingly for San Antonio weather — the event tends to get hot due to the high volume of guests. However, it’s easy to go inside the Witte at any point during the event to cool off. Whiskey Business will have vendors throughout the museum and on the surrounding green.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Witte Museum. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Witte has been dedicated to preserving history and the humanities in San Antonio since it originally opened in 1926. Whiskey Business helps the museum continue its mission of educating locals and tourists while maintaining its expansive 10-acre campus.
