Cajun seafood chain Hooked Boil House has shuttered its San Antonio location after less than a year in business, MySA reports — but what a year it was.

Mesa, Arizona-based Hooked opened up its first San Antonio location in February 2024. In the months that followed, the small chain downsized, losing all its locations save the one in the Alamo City.

Now, its sole remaining restaurant, located at 12485 I-10, Suite 108, has also ceased operation. Hooked’s expansion followed almost immediately by a rapid decline represents one of the most extreme examples of today’s volatile business environment for restaurants and bars.

The chain announced the sudden closure of its San Antonio store on social media Monday, saying “after much thought and reflection, our Hooked Boil journey is coming to an end.”

The restaurant had its last day of service on Tuesday.

In a year that also saw the closure of venerable Acadiana Cafe, San Antonio’s options for Cajun cuisine have narrowed significantly.
