The new Alamo Biscuit Co. location will bring loaded biscuits, brunch items and pan dulce to a downtown spot with river views from its patio, according to officials with the business.
Alamo Biscuit Co. is owned by John Vale. The chain launched its flagship location at 9630 Huebner Road in 2019. Last year’s expansion added locations in the lobby of Methodist Hospital and the student center at Trinity University.
“To be invited to open a location on the San Antonio River Walk is an incredible honor and a blessing,” Vale said in an emailed statement. “In just five years, Alamo Biscuit Co. has become a part of San Antonio’s culinary fabric, and now, we’ve been given the opportunity to share our passion for great food and community in what I believe is the best location in Texas.”
Alamo Biscuit Co.’s River Walk location will open its doors in March 2025, according company officials. It will be situated under Brazilian churrascaria Fogo de Chao adjacent to the Shops at Rivercenter.
Alamo Biscuit Co. is looking to hire 80 to100 workers to staff the new location. Extensive renovations start next week on the 7,000-square-foot space, which was originally occupied by high-end Spanish eatery Enrique Tomás.
Much like its other locations, the River Walk Alamo Biscuit Co. will feature vibrant, Instagram-worthy murals throughout a space that can seat 250 guests. However, unlike the other locations, its River Walk restaurant will feature full liquor and espresso bars.
