This year’s Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair, which organizers bill as the nation’s biggest event devoted to the genre, will take place March 14-16 at Hemisfair, likely drawing tens of thousands of fans into downtown.
Performers scheduled for the free, three-day gathering include Michael Salgado, Jay Perez, Stefani Montiel, Sunny Sauceda, Max Baca y Los Texmanics and many others playing across three stages, according to organizers. The show also will include autograph sessions with actor Valente Rodriguez, Grammy-winning Elida Reyna y Avante and Latin Grammy-nominated Destiny Navaira.
According to organizers, the annual Fan Fair regularly draws crowds of more than 100,000. In addition to concerts and celebrity appearances, the event will offer food and vendor booths along with Tejano music merchandise.
The Fan Fair is organized by the Texas Talent Musicians Association, which holds the annual Tejano Music Awards, a ceremony recognizing important musicians in the genre since 1980. The 44th annual edition of the award show took place last November at San Antonio’s Boeing Center at Tech Port.
