Two San Antonio-area ZIP codes ranked among last year’s 10 hottest U.S. real estate markets complied by online property-sales marketplace OpenDoor — and it was the second appearance on the list for both.

Far West San Antonio’s 78253 ZIP code ranked as the nation’s No.3 most-sought-after neighborhood in 2024, according to OpenDoor. The area, which encompasses the Alamo City’s burgeoning Alamo Ranch subdivision, moved up six spots from its 2023 ranking.

Meanwhile, New Braunfels’ 78253 ranked as the fourth-most coveted spot to buy a home last year. Its ranking was also an improvement from 2023.

Both ZIP codes offer homes in the $300,000 to $500,000 price range, according to home-buying website Zillow.

Opendoor compiles its annual rankings by analyzing the number of homes under contract within 90 days of being listed on its website.

“This year’s list highlights buyers gravitating toward fast-growing cities like New Braunfels and San Antonio that offer the perfect balance of small-town charm, proximity to major metro areas and strong economic opportunities,” Opendoor Head of Agent Partnerships Nick Boniakowski said in a statement.

“It’s a clear reflection of homeowners seeking vibrant communities where they can thrive, and it gives buyers and sellers a valuable head start in planning their next move,” he added.

More than half of the nation’s most desirable ZIP codes last year were in Texas, and all of the neighborhoods in the top 10 were located in the Sun Belt.

The 10 hottest Zip codes for homebuyers, according to Opendoor include:

  1. Katy, Texas — 77493
  2. Cypress, Texas — 77433
  3. San Antonio — 78253
