In anticipation of heavy traffic and limited parking, VIA Metropolitan Transit is expanding its Park & Ride service to include two more additional pick-up locations for those heading to this Friday’s highly anticipated Shakira concert at the Alamodome.

In addition to VIA’s Park & Ride center at 151 Crossroads Blvd., VIA will also ferry passengers to the concert from the Frost Bank Center at the Brooks Transit Center, 7903 S. New Braunfels Ave.

Service from the locations will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will continue until the concert’s 7:30 p.m. start time. Return service from the Alamodome will run for one hour after the performance ends.

VIA’s Park and Ride Service costs $2.60 roundtrip. However, a discount of $1.30 is applied to children ages 5-13 and seniors over 65. The discounts also apply to students and Medicare recipients. Children under 4 ride free.

Passengers can purchase their VIA tickets ahead of time on the VIA goMobile+ app or in person before boarding the bus.

Meanwhile, tickets to see the four-time Grammy winner Shakira are still available starting at $78 via Ticketmaster.
