Petticoat Tails Tea Shop will celebrate the English tradition of afternoon tea with holiday and signature teas at
The Fairmount, where the hotel’s salon has been transformed into a tearoom. This will be a “cream tea,” featuring the Fairmount’s signature Tips Tea, or one of the 12 Teas of Christmas from Petticoat Tails, such as the sweet Candy Cane Peppermint blend, and Petticoat Tails’ house-made scones. The scones are offered in a variety of flavors—white chocolate, lemon-blueberry, and pumpkin—and served warm with Devon Cream, lemon curd, and jam. The Nutcracker Suite. Petticoat Tails at The Fairmont will offer tea Monday-Friday until December 23, from 2-5 p.m. For reservations, call 348-7949.
The porcine Cabana Boy
Newly opened Gretalia, 2211 NW Military Highway, serves Greek and Italian fare, including cold sandwiches, panini, Philly cheese steaks, and a variety of salads. The soup of the day ranges from homemade potato leek to beef vegetable and clam chowder. If you’re feeling saucy, try the Cabana Boy sandwich, featuring pulled roast pork, roasted ham, and a pickle served on French baguette bread. Gretalia is open Monday-Thursday 5:30 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday-Saturday 5:30 a.m.-11 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m.-10 p.m.
