All the new chain restaurants calling San Antonio home within the next year

We love locally owned dining spots as much as the person, but there's nothing wrong with occasionally enjoying a reliable, even predictable, meal at a chain restaurant.

The Alamo City is already a hotbed for restaurant chains, and plenty more have announced plans to expand here. Here's a collection of dining chains that entered San Antonio for the first time recently or unveiled plans to come here soon.

Hawaiian Bros Island Grill

The Aloha state’s iconic cuisine is now available for San Antonio residents via its first area location in Selma. Earlier this fall, Kansas City-based Hawaiian Bros Island Grill opened its doors to fans of the Big Island’s famous cuisine in a fast casual dining atmosphere.

The sushi bar located at the Quarry is now up and running serving their famed sushi, ramen and desserts. Kura’s expansion into San Antonio marks the ninth store the Japan-based restaurant has in Texas.

However, for those who are spice-averse, Dave’s offers a no-spice alternative to its famous fried chicken. The first of multiple planned Dave’s locations in SA is slated to open in December 2022.

The construction was set to begin Dec. 1, with a completion date of Spring 2023.
