"Hello! When I came to ADL they found out I had an ear infection, heartworms, and a chemical burn on my body. The ADL veterinarian team treated me immediately and I’m now doing so much better! I am clear of my ear infection, I’m currently going through heartworm treatment and my burns are quickly healing. Overall, I am a chill dog, especially when I’m in a car. I will sit patiently in the backseat and enjoy the ride. I like yummy treats and like most bulldogs will drool like mad for them. I even know how to sit for treats and I know I can learn more tricks. Nobody knows what I went through before I got here but I’m ready to leave the past behind me. I’m now looking forward to a bright future in a loving home of my own with someone who will love me forever."
Madrid
"Hi, I’m Madrid! I am a nice and friendly kitty who’s still young and full of energy. I was one of the pets that ADL picked up from SPCA of Brazoria County in Lake Jackson, TX. I was already in the shelter looking for someone to adopt me and then hurricane Harvey came around. After that horrible Harvey left, I was transferred to ADL so that room could be made for pets at SPCA who were displaced by Harvey. Now I am looking for a home here at ADL, I hope I can find my person soon!"
Buster
“Don’t panic, that’s not a green spider crawling over my eye. It’s stitches – I just had an eye removed. It wasn’t doing me any good anyway, since I couldn’t see out of it, so I don’t mind. I’m a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, always ready to play. I love toys and treats and would love an active family that likes to keep busy. I’m smart too – I can sit, shake and fetch on command, especially if I know there’s a treat waiting for me. If you love to play as much as I do, please come see me – I’ll be right here waiting and wagging!”
Byron
“Bryon is a great name for a gentlemanly cat like me! I’m FIV positive and I do have other health issues that you should ask the staff about when you come see me. You are coming to see me right? How could you resist having a true gentleman in your home? I’m also loving and very sweet. I know you’re sold now so I’ll see you soon!”
Dominic
“Hello there! Let us sit down and have a fun little chat to get to know each other. At first, I might be a bit reserved but if you stay with me for a minute and comfort me slowly I’ll be begging for ear rubs in no time! Yup, I love ear rubs! I am very curious and adventurous since i’m still young. Let’s get to know each other even more!”
Myra
“Hi, my name is Myra. I am a 3 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix. I’m brown and white. I like to be goofy and play with you. I’m strong so I will need some training on the leash. I am friendly and would like to go home with you!”
Adam
“I am one of your larger chihuahuas but I still like to be held. I also like being on the ground so either way is okay with me. Like all dogs, I just like attention. I get excited at the opportunity to be out and about but overall, I have an even tempered personality that won’t overwhelm you.”
Marcello
“I am a perfect mix. Not just my breed but also my personality. I’m active and playful while also being a real snuggle bug who loves to love. I am FIV positive but this doesn’t mean I won’t live a long, happy life. I suggest you read about it and consider giving us FIV cats a chance! I would love to show someone how fabulous I am. Could you be that person?”
Scruffy
“Hi, I am Scruffy, I am a very super sweet girl who enjoys curling up on your lap and giving sweet kisses. I will provide you with all of my love and affection! Come down to meet me so we can get to know each other better! I’ll be waiting at the Paul Jolly Center.”
Cinnamon
“Hi, I’m Cinnamon. I can be a little skittish so please go slow with me. I’m sure in a home I will warm up to my human. I just need some time. Please visit me in the cattery and give me a chance to be your feline friend!”
