A San Antonio Midcentury Modern home built by famed architect O'Neil Ford is for sale

A 1960 Monte Vista home designed by O'Neil Ford, the architect behind local landmarks including the Tower of the Americas and Trinity University, has hit the market for just under $1.8 million.

The property was originally designed as a modest two-bedroom home, but multiple additions over the years expanded it to nearly 5,700 square feet, according to its listing agent. The single-story home now includes five bedrooms and four and a half baths.

It's easy to see Ford's hand in the sprawling home, which includes plenty of his distinctive "Bridgeport pink" bricks, along with the copious use of natural light, which was another of his trademarks.

It's unclear whether Ford supervised any of the additions to the house, according to its agent. However, the clean lines and open feel of Midcentury Modern architecture is a constant throughout.
