An all-concrete home on the Guadalupe River called the 'Monolith House' is now for sale

A sprawling new riverfront home northwest of San Antonio with a facade comprised entirely of concrete has hit the market for $5.5 million. That unusual construction explains its nickname: the "Monolith House."

The 4,500-square-foot residence near the town of Hunt was designed and constructed by architectural engineer Ueli Schlunegger, who's also designed and renovated hotels throughout Texas and New Mexico. Indeed, some of the four-bedroom, four-bath home's features resemble those of a resort property.

The main living spaces and bedrooms, for example, feature floor-to-ceiling glass, which provides unobstructed views of the natural surroundings outside. The structure also is located on five acres along the Guadalupe River, which its 60-foot negative edge pool and hot tub overlook.

This home is listed by Rick Kuper, Caroline Kuper and Sandy Cary with Kuper Sotheby's International Realty.
