Decades later, San Antonio man restores childhood home, and now its for sale

An 89-year-old Olmos Park home has hit the market with $1.1 million price tag, but more interesting than its vintage or even its distinctive stone exterior is the fact that its current seller actually grew up in the home and purchased it decades later.

According to an agent for the property, the two-story home's owner was born in the home and lived his early childhood there. Then, after seeing it on the market again in 2016, he and his wife purchased the three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath residence and oversaw its refurbishment.

It's now back on the market because the couple needs a larger home for their growing family, the agent explained.

The interior of the 3,200-square-foot property features wood and Saltillo tile floors and plenty of Art Deco-era woodwork such as its rounded doorways and stylish staircase. The restoration work also added modern touches including an updated kitchen with granite and butcher-block countertops plus sleek tile accents.

This home is listed by Delanna Allen with Re/Max First Shot.
