In March, Clamp Light Artist Studios and Gallery Co-Director Brittany Ham was meant to inaugurate the new art space Rojo Gallery at 1906 S. Flores with an exhibition of new work. That plan was waylaid when San Antonio's art scene took an indefinite hiatus from IRL events.
In the meantime, we gathered a selection of Ham's output, both old and new, that's available for purchase online.
Her abstract pieces are rendered in an imaginative, childlike style, down to zigzagging scribbles of green crayon that comprise the grassy landscapes featured in of many of her works. The bright colors and gentle curving lines in her paintings and illustrations sometimes belie a crueler reality that's revealed upon closer inspection, like the painful encounter depicted in "Face Bit By Dog."
