San Antonio fabric artist Jane Dunnewold is selling her colorful home and studio

A walk through this partly restored 1890s house a few blocks from Woodlawn Lake leaves little doubt about the profession of its most recent owner, internationally known fabric artist, educator and author Jane Dunnewold.

Many of the walls are painted in bold colors, and even the neutral rooms feature pops of color such a rectangle of deep blue above a window transom. Artistic designs in frosted glass adorn the windows in kitchens and bathrooms.

The house, now on the market for just under $450,000, also has a separate building that serves as a large studio and workshop for the San Antonio Art League’s 2019 Artist of the Year, including lots of light and restaurant-grade sinks.

There are two kitchens because the house was turned into a duplex, then back into a single-family dwelling at some point during its 130-year-life. Most recently, the upstairs has served as an AirBnB, while the downstairs operated as an art gallery.
