Rita Crosby led a fascinating and varied life, according to her 2018 obituary.

In the mid-1960s, she worked first in Manhattan, then in London, as an actress and fashion model. By the early 1970s, she'd married film industry executive Norbert Auerbach, who later served as president of United Artists.

After a divorce, she relocated to the Alamo City, where she bought and refurbished this historic 1910 LaVaca home and started a hat-making venture called Hats! by rita, according to her obit.

After Crosby's death, the four-bedroom home went on the market, and Bexar County records show it was snapped up in 2019 by its current owner, who's once again put it back on the sales block.

The property, which also includes a separate standalone residence, underwent a complete 2020 renovation overseen by an architect with San Antonio's award-winning Lake Flato firm. The redesigned home now boasts a high, church-like ceiling that spans its open kitchen and dining area, and all of the bedrooms now include en-suite bathrooms.

This home is listed by Cory Bakke with Phyllis Browning Company.
