This historic San Antonio home is for sale, and it comes with the Yellow Rose Bed and Breakfast

A historic King William home and its accompanying bed and breakfast have gone on the market for just shy of $1.3 million.

The colorful two-story Victorian was constructed in the late 1800s for the family of Charles H. Mueller, who ran a downtown framing and paint shop, according to the San Antonio Registry of Houses website. One of Mueller's daughters was also the parent of Ernest Scrivener Jr., the founder of Alamo Heights' iconic Scrivener's retail store.

Mueller hired local architect Albert Beckmann, whose other work included the original Joske's department store, to design the four-bedroom home, which eventually ended up as a rental and was even carved up into apartments, according to the Registry. At one point, the structure housed 27 tenants, according to its listing agent.

The property's current sale listing includes both the 2,900-square-foot home at the front of the lot — completely restored since its rental days — plus a 1,774-square foot structure added during the 1990s that became the five-room Yellow Rose Bed and Breakfast.

Beyond the Mueller home's elegant front porch, it boasts 12-foot ceilings, long-leaf red pine flooring and stunning 8-foot double-hung windows, according to its listing.
