28th Annual San Antonio International Woman’s Day March & Rally

As proposed by German activist Clara Zetkin, the first ever International Women’s Day took place in 1911 and brought together more than a million people to campaign for women’s rights to work, vote and hold public office. Now a global celebration that takes shape in thousands of events, IWD recognizes the “economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.” Organized by Mujeres Marcharán as a means to uplift the voices of all women and girls, the 28th annual San Antonio International Woman’s Day March & Rally gathers in Columbus Park (10am) for a blessing (10:30am) before stepping off at 11am. The day culminates with a SAIWD After Party & Fundraiser at The Bang Bang Bar ($5, 9pm, 119 El Mio Drive) featuring music by Lloronas, Polly Anna, Zigtebra and Chulita Vinyl Club.
