Bexar Audubon Society Monthly Meeting: California Condors
When: Wed., Oct. 25, 6:30 p.m. 2023
Join in to discover the work of an avian paleontologist, Dr. Steven E. Emslie — a scientist who digs in caves, unearthing bones that help explain the change in the distribution of birds over time. Dr. Emslie will present his program via Zoom, but the group will also gather in person at Alamo Colleges District to view his presentation. The California Condor was once found all across North America during the last Ice Age. Today, the California Condor is critically endangered. It became extinct in the wild in 1987, but captive breeding efforts boosted their numbers.
