First Look: Inside Big Bob's Burgers Downtown Location

Fans of Big Bob's Burgers (sadly, not affiliated with the TV show) will be able to dine on the on burgers, onion rings and other favorites when the second location opens Sept. 1.

Bob Riddle, CIA-Hyde Park grad and former owner of San Remo Italian Ristorante in Castle Hills and Podna's Catfish and Po'boys, closed shop at the original Bobs on Harry Wurzbach to open a new Bob's off Hildebrand. Riddle hopes the new location at the Vistana, which takes over the space previously occupied by Lee's Taco Garage, will also take on a neighborhood feel.

The menu and prices will stay the same, about $4.50 for a basic burger, and hours will mimic the Hildebrand location, 11 to 10 p.m. Riddle will split his team between joints so expect to see him there a lot. The affable businessman makes it his point to greet just about every patron.

Here are a few shots of the latest Big Bob's location:

The new burger joint will seat 55 people, patio included.

Riddle and crew have decked out the former Taco Garage with corrugated tin to replicate the Hildebrand location.

The bar will feature three beers on tap (for now), probably Alamo, Lone Star and Shiner.

Slap a few Big Bob's Burgers signs on those walls! The booths were left-behind from the IHOP Express that occupied the space before Taco Garage.

Riddle hopes the restaurant will take on an urban, neighborhood feel.

Josh Vara (not pictured) will come in as manager. Vara's worked with Riddle for the past four years.
