Fat Tummy Empanadas, an Argentinean eatery with both a food truck and brick-and-mortar location, announced on social media that the restaurant will appear on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on Friday, November 30, at 7 p.m. The mom-and-pop spot specializes in empanadas but also serves a variety Argentinean dishes.
Wrigleyville Grill also said it will be on the Food Network show at that time, suggesting the episode could be all about San Antonio. That's because rach Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives spotlights three restaurants.
Smoke Shack seems like the most likely local eatery to fill out such a lineup. Fieri posted a photo on Instagram outside of the Broadway barbecue spot in October, around the same time that Wrigleyville Grill said the star was filming at its Chicago-style eatery. Smoke Shack owner Chris Conger has yet to confirm an appearance on the show, but we're sure Fieri stopped by for more than just the Big Mac Daddy.
In the past, Fieri has also visited Beto's on Broadway, Bun 'N' Barrel, The Cove, De Wese's Tip Top Cafe, Dough Pizzeria Napoletana, La Panaderia, Magnolia Pancake Haus, Moroccan Bites, Taco Taco Cafe and Texas Pride Barbecue.
