We're not going to tell you where to score your favorite taco, or what tacos we like best. We trust that in a city filled to the brim with taco goodness, you are capable of finding decent tacos. But we will tell you where to find deals this National Taco Day (Thursday, Oct. 4) so you can celebrate on a budget.
Taco Cabana will offer guests one free shredded chicken taco or ground beef taco from 3 p.m. to midnight. Guest must show coupon code, available on TC’s social media, to cashier. One per guest, per visit, per transaction (no cash value). This special is valid at participating locations only and not available through online ordering. It is not valid with any other offer. Guest pays all applicable taxes.
Familia Cortez Restaurants will serve up taco happy hours at each of their four locations. Stop by
Pico de Gallo Restaurant for Taco Happy Hour from 7 to 10 a.m. with $1.50 specialty breakfast tacos and $1.25 breakfast coffee (dine-in and carry-out);
Viva Villa's taco happy hour will feature $1 street tacos (al pastor and bistek) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (dine-in only);
La Margarita Restaurant will feature $3.50 famous beef fajita tacos from 3 to 5 p.m. (dine-in only); and finally,
Mi Tierra will feature $2 carne guisada tacos from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Torchy's Tacos, the Austin-based chain, will gift five lucky fans, at each of their 60 locations, with gift cards for more tacos, chips and queso. Winners will know there’s a little something extra in their basket if they see gold foil-lined tacos. It’s like Willy Wonka’s golden ticket, without the weird tour.
Mama’s Kitchen on Hildebrand will also celebrate with half-priced tacos all day like they did last year. Get your fix from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
504 W. Hildebrand Ave., (210) 733-0904.
