Flooding Forces Tony Parker to Turn Around, Not Drown

Tony Parker: All-Star point guard, NBA champion, French rapper, public safety ally.

Because of today's torrential rains, Parker had a little trouble getting to today's shootaround. He did the right thing; unlike my high-risk/high-reward Oregon Trail strategy, Parker didn't try to ford the river. He turned around, he didn't drown. Tim Morrow, director of the San Antonio Zoo and the Spurs' sideline statistician tweeted out this picture as proof.

Later tweets from Morrow showed that the road had cleared up enough to allow vehicles to pass, so Parker shouldn't have any trouble getting to the AT&T Center for tonight's game against the Brooklyn Nets. Which is a good thing for the team, and also because the game is practically the only event that hasn't been cancelled tonight because of the weather.

It's worth keeping Parker's example in mind. Don't drive the lane when it's flooded, people. I'll see myself out.
