I don’t know about you but I’ve always marveled at the mosaic — the small colored bits of glass pieced together to create a decorative art form unlike any other. At Bihl Haus Art, Research Associate and Lecturer in Roman Art History at the University of Texas in Austin Dr. Nayla Kabazi Muntasser kicks off the mosaic celebration with the keynote lecture “Mosaics in Context: The Medium and the Message.” The PowerPoint lecture will focus on the history of mosaics and answer the question: Why did mosaics virtually die out? Following Muntasser’s talk will be a roundtable discussion on the Dreambench Project, a collaboration between Bihl Haus Arts and Blue Star Mosaic. In addition to that, Interactions: Art by the Young and the Young at Heart will be on display — the show features the products of one year of painting and art classes offered at Bihl Haus to residents of Primose at Monticello Park Senior Apartments. The exhibition will be up until June 14. Free, May 24, 1-4pm, Bihl Haus Arts,
