A North East Independent School District student told authorities he was forced inside a vehicle while walking to a bus stop Monday morning, according to reports.

According to KSAT, an Eisenhower Middle School student was walking to his bus stop when a driver approached him outside of the Blanco Crossing Apartments, about 2.4 miles from campus. The boy told authorities that the man got out of the car, forced him inside the vehicle and drove to a gas station. The boy was able to escape and run home.

The San Antonio Police Department is currently investigating the attempted kidnapping. The suspect is described as a white man of average height with short hair and a beard. The boy said the man was driving a black Honda or a similar type of sedan.

Principal John Smith told KENS5 that he was made aware of the incident after the boy's parent contacted SAPD. School administration sent parents a letter about the incident and provided safety tips to discuss with their children. Kids are encouraged to walk in groups and be cautious of strangers, especially those offering a ride.

Anyone with questions or concerns about the incident is welcome to contact Smith at (210) 356-3505.
