San Antonio Rabbi to Deliver Prayer Before Congress

A San Antonio Rabbi will deliver the daily invocation to the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday.

Rabbi Mara Nathan of Temple Beth-El was invited by Congressman Joaquin Castro to deliver the House's daily prayer.

In a press statement, Nathan said she will be urging members
of Congress to “recognize our need to reach our full potentials, and the spark of holiness in all human beings."

Nathan was one of the many religious leaders across Texas who spoke out against the anti-transgender "bathroom bill" considered (and, eventually, quashed) by the Texas Legislature in 2017.

She's bringing a group of 11th and 12th graders from Temple Beth-El along with her on the trip to Washington, D.C.
