By most technical definitions of a bridge, it's completely impractical. But that's missing the point of the Hays Street Bridge, a newly revitalized Eastside landmark built in 1881 over the Nueces River in Uvalde. In 1910, the bridge was relocated to its current spot to accommodate traffic, before falling into decay and somehow surviving multiple demolition threats.
Since reopening in 2010, it has become a must-ride destination for bikers and a hot spot for all manner of impromptu gatherings and events (yoga sessions, impromptu concerts, viral rap videos, etc.).
