San Antonio Symphony: Tchaikovsky Pathetique

Music Director Sebastian Lang-Lessing pairs two of the most emotional works of the Romantic era to create a program that will tug at your heartstrings. Both works are the final compositions of these 19th century masters. Tchaikovsky’s sixth symphony was premiered by the composer as conductor just nine days before his death. In Wagner’s last opera, Parsifal, the young Knight of the Grail is on a heroic quest searching for compassion and redemption. It contains music of rapt beauty, expressing repentance and transfiguration.
