The UTSA Music Department is proud to announce the Orchestra’s inaugural concert of this year’s season, “A Thousand Words.” The Orchestra will be performing Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1 in A Minor, featuring UTSA cello professor Ryan Murphy, and Mussorgsky/Ravel’s Pictures at an Exhibition with special guests from MacArthur High School Orchestra. These two selections emphasize this year’s theme of how music can paint a vivid and fantastic picture, yet not even a thousand words can express the power of its beauty.
