Fresh off a late-2017 lineup change, Santa Fe’s Future Scars come to town energized and working out all-new material for a forthcoming record. The act, which deftly blends post-rock with elements of metal and experimental indie rock, has only released 2016’s excellent Before, There Was Fear EP previously (check it out at futurescars.bandcamp.com). Nevertheless, the group has built a reputation for explosive live shows. Future Scars is joined on this fine bill by fellow Santa Fe artist Blanchard (folk pop) and locals Flower Jesus Quartet (alien roots-psych soup), Pochos Chidos (trippy cumbia-rock), and dreambored (dream-pop). All things considered, this diverse weeknight show could turn out to be one of the best excuses to stay out late you’ll find all week.
