Lucas Jack Album Release & San Antonio Farewell Show

SPONSORED -- Lucas Jack is a piano singer songwriter from San Antonio by way of Kalamazoo and Chicago. He began his songwriting and performance career crafting songs for any and all family occasions as a small boy, a passion he carried as a teenager to the bars, hotel lobbies, and social events of his hometown of Kalamazoo, Michigan – anywhere with an unguarded piano. This creative impulse was fostered throughout his twenties via collaboration with a series of bands while working as an attorney in Chicago. At last heeding music as a full-time calling, he moved to San Antonio, left the corporate grind, and released The Chicago EP in 2012 followed by Before I Forget in 2015. Lucas describes himself as a “recovering attorney,” in reference to the 5 disheartening years he spent as a lawyer battling the liars and scallywags in Chicago before heeding his true calling as a songwriter and performer. Fortunately, Lucas has managed to convert those experiences into fodder for his own unique brand of songwriting. In June Lucas will release his third album, Make it Beautiful, which incorporates the 1970’s piano-rock styling of Elton and Billy with the modern pop sensibility of the Bens (Folds, Kweller, and Rector). Make it Beautiful tackles the complications of turning 30, becoming a father, sifting for answers, and celebrating the bittersweet beauty and heartache hidden inside every fleeting moment. Make it Beautiful was produced by Chip Johnson and Kit Karlson and recorded at Alpine Red Studios (Gainesville, VA). Unlike previous albums, which were recorded over many months with various studio musicians, Make it Beautiful was recorded entirely by Lucas Jack and his band in just 2 whirlwind weeks. It was mastered by Larry Lachmann at Kevorkian Mastering (New York, NY). As Lucas puts it, “songwriting is the catharsis, recoding is the therapy, and the album is the confession. Make it Beautiful is a thought crime of passion.”
