"The Altered Landscape"

Human beings are beautiful and disgusting creatures. When examined at macro and micro levels, our relationship with the planet we live on reflects this paradox in striking ways. In a brilliant and haunting new group exhibition entitled “The Altered Landscape,” Clamp Light Artist Studios and Gallery invites you to ponder this dichotomy. Featuring work from 12 national artists, the exhibit provides unusual and poetic perspectives on the way that humans leave our mark on the natural spaces we manipulate and inhabit. With these works, devoid of any actual human presence, we are forced to consider the legacy left by our interventions in the natural world. As you might expect, the overall effect is sobering, but also leaves room for the sheer aesthetic enjoyment of these deceptively gorgeous images. “The Altered Landscape” remains on view by appointment through September 30.
