Looks like Mixtli wasn't the only eatery to get a visit from celeb chef Andrew Zimmern this past week. The Bizarre Foods host and adventuresome eater also spent some time at Michael Sohocki's Restaurant Gwendolyn on Saturday evening, where he took in house-made sausage, brain, blood tuille, pasta and four different ice creams, according to Sohocki.
Zimmern spent his Sunday like any good South Texan would, taking in barbacoa and Big Red at Casa Hernan with chef Johnny Hernandez, cooking up cecina and nopal salad and later making his way to Hernandez's El Machito where he watched the chef fire up his spit.
