Buena Vista Street's Warehouse 5 is now the home of Shotgun House Coffee Roasters.
First slated for a March opening, shop owners Eddie Laughlin and Jessica Callery, a digital director and research assistant at Texas Biomed, respectively, converted a gym into a sleek, airy space filled with green touches and house-roasted coffee.
Shotgun House Coffee Roasters first began as a hobby with Laughlin, who works remotely within the city’s various coffee shops, using a two-pound tabletop roaster and selling his roasts during weekend pop-ups at his shotgun-style home in early June in the Tobin Hill area.
The 1,500-square-foot space will also serve as a roasting facility with Laughlin using a San Franciscan roaster that can process 20 pounds in an hour.
The shop carries small batch coffees, breakfast tacos from El Milagrito and pastries from Chocollazo. They're also serving a mean vegan horchata you should try ASAP. Parking is available along the right-hand side of Buena Vista and Alazan.
Opening hours are 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
