Southerleigh Is Hosting an All-American Tap Takeover at Paper Tiger

Southerleigh and Paper Tiger are teaming up for an All-American Tap Takeover at the St. Mary’s club on Sunday, August 27 complete with hot dogs, beer and pies.

This isn’t your ordinary tap takeover though, as Southerleigh aims to “make America kind again” by providing on-site voter registration along with the release of two special brews in a family-friendly setting. The free event will see the release of two Southerleigh brews: Putin’s Revenge and Small Hands.
Putin’s Reveng is a seasonal imperial Russian Stout with a distinct chocolate and coffee taste, brewed using American Two Row, chocolate rye grains and Amarillo hops. Putin’s Revenge is coming back for its third year in Southerleigh’s seasonal rotation, and Small Hands will make its return as well. Small Hands is a lighter, American stout brewed using Wakatu hops.
Other Southerleigh beers will be available like Southerleigh Gold, Texas Uncommon and others.

Southerleigh’s Tap Takeover will also feature a free pie-eating contest (pie types yet to be determined), live art by Saint Jahn & Absorb81, music by DJ Errythang and Taco Twin JC and food from The Return of Wurst Kart.

“What is more American than exercising your right to vote along with stuffing yourself with beer, pies and hot dogs,” Southerleigh owner Jeff Balfour asks.

If there is a more American combination of things to do on a sweltering San Antonio Summer’s day than this, I haven’t found it.
