Rosey Blair posted updates on the event last week as she and boyfriend Houston Hardaway chatted with online friends about the possible romance budding before their watchful eyes and tweeting fingers. Her live-tweeting has since been criticized as an invasion of privacy.
— Rosey Blair (@roseybeeme) July 10, 2018“When I made this and shared it, I was happy, joyful and overcome with authentic and sincere excitement,” Blair posted on her Twitter account. “So much so that I could not see the potential exploitative nature of the outcome and my actions.”
The apology comes days after Blair went viral for her thread documenting every movement of the strangers, including detailing their conversations, posting cropped pictures of the mystery man’s body and even sharing when the pair headed to the bathroom. Blair’s thread, which was comprised of almost 70 updates and dozens of personal snippets, was retweeted nearly 37,000 times and began trending on Twitter.
“Last night on a flight home, my boyfriend and I asked a woman to switch seats with me so we could sit together,” Blair tweeted as she began her thread. “We made a joke that maybe her new seat partner would be the love of her life and well, now I present you with this thread.”If anyone wants to write a screenplay ... I’m an actress, comedian and a writer and so is my dude. Also if anyone wants to send us plane tickets we are more than happy to try and find your very own #PlaneBae 😍😏😂

Since her initial tweet, Blair, Hardaway and the freshly dubbed and identified #PlaneBae Euan Holden have enjoyed the short-lived stardom that comes with a viral online story. The trio have been interviewed by multiple local news outlets, the Today show and Buzzfeed as their story has continued to gain traction.
However, the woman who Blair posted pictures of without prior consent has not enjoyed the attention. Although Blair attempted to preserve the seatmate’s anonymity through edited photos, Twitter romantics were still able to find the woman’s Instagram. While Holden experienced a rise in popularity, the mystery woman was harassed off of social media.
The insults the woman received before going offline seem to be linked to Blair’s speculation of what the pair did when they left for the bathroom together. Although Blair tweeted that she didn’t believe the two were intimate, trolls were quick to call the woman a “skank” while praising Holden for the implied sexual encounter.
Many following the thread shared their thoughts on the update.
Imagine being this easy though...😷😕

Many took to social media to criticize Blair’s actions and express outrage over the pair’s differing experience with the viral thread.
“Every woman has a right to their own story,” Blair said in her apology. “And to take away yours and to turn into my own was wrong on many levels.”
