Hi again, so this is post number five. I recently went to the Renewable Republic because they were having an EP release show for this MC called Amaze. I’d never heard him live so I decided to check it out.  I got to the place early so I walked around the neighborhood and spotted this blushing elevated house. Check out my Instagram, @brainold, for the color iPhone version. All these photos were shot on 35mm Fuji Neopan400 and developed by me.

So onto some of the music that night, these are my friends Nick and Travis of the band Lonely Horse. If you haven’t seen them live, you gotta see them, they are the definition of inspiration, soul, and charisma. Here’s a take away show I shot of them when we were out shooting photos.

At the Renewable Republic there is hut type thingy called a yurt.

People were crashed out in between sets and since I always look down when I’m out, this is what I saw.

More walking around in the neighborhood and I saw this fence.

This is actually in my neighborhood again so, many dogs, but this little guy was cool and quiet.  Did I say quiet? Too much barking going on in my neighborhood, especially at 2 a.m.  There are these two dogs that decide to play on my street, which consists of horseplay and barking at each other. That happens at 8 a.m. every morning. Sheesh.

This intersection is by my house and I never take the chance to walk it, but on this day I was meeting a friend to discuss some video projections for his EP release show and took a stroll. Sometimes I just need to slow down and pay attention.

Kevin Sanchez has been putting together these indie jazz nights at the 502 Bar and there have been some unique performances to go listen to. Sometimes accidents make for beautiful pictures.  Double exposure of jazz trio Sputnik.

Awesome blurriness .50mm 1.4 – Sputnik trio at 502 Bar.

If you have a free Tuesday night, I think the last one of each month they have the indie jazz night at 502 bar. Go and have some drinks say hi to Kevin and enjoy some good music.

So this is a shot of Gran Marais, a side project of Erik Sanden and Joe Reyes of the San Antonio band Buttercup. They did a show at 502  Bar and had these suitcases that lit up with their band initials.

This is what the band looks like and usually it’s just Erik and Joe, but Odie joined in on a couple of songs.

Jackson Albracht’s band Slomo Drags also played that night.

I checked out their Facebook page. The genre they have listed is tritone pop and they describe themselves as Dave Matthews Band combined with, like, solo Dave Matthews.  So go check them out and decide for yourselves

Marcus Rubio, another San Antonio native that has relocated to Los Angeles played that night.

I remember he used to play solo shows with his violin and loop his sounds and vocals.

Ok so this ends the roll of film I shot for this post.  The next one is already in the works and I’ll be shooting color film for the next two posts. This little walking trail is my only solace from my work environment....
