Chef Steve McHugh Hosts Corn Roast

Chef Steve McHugh will host a corn roast at Friendly Spot (943 S Alamo) Sunday, September 22 at 4 p.m. The event will benefit the South Central Texas Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

A $30 admission ticket will get you drink tickets, a commemorative cup, roasted corn (obvi) and red beans and rice.

McHugh, formerly the executive chef at Lüke San Antonio, will open his own restaurant Cured this fall at the Pearl Brewery. Now in remission, McHugh was first diagnosed with lymphoma in 2010 and received treatment in San Antonio after moving here from New Orleans.
