As an enticing appetizer for the Realm of Illusion exhibit, the McNay Art Museum presents Vatel, the tale of a famous French chef (reportedly the distant ancestor of Bistro Vatel’s Damien Watel) who woos Louis XIV, and his favorite attendant. The fabulously potato-nosed Gerard Depardieu and Uma Thurman star. Admission is free. 7:15 p.m. Thursday, December 15, at the McNay, 6000 N. New Braunfels, 824-5368.


The Holiday Laser Show

Urban-15 Group presents its second annual Holiday Laser Show featuring creator Tim Walsh, December 4-10. Favorite holiday tunes will be accompanied by multi-colored laser beams and 3-D spectacles. Instructional shows for schoolchildren are held 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays. Showtimes for the general public are held at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and at 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. Saturday. All shows are held at the Urban-15 theater, 2500 S. Presa. Admission is $10 adult, $5 student, $4 children under 12. Seating is limited and advance tickets are recommended. 533-2912.
