The Round Rock Police Department identified the man
killed by the Dropkick Murphys tour bus early Sunday morning as 23-year-old Dalton Lane Clark of Cedar Park, Tex. His family released a statement today that says they believe he had been attempting to cross Interstate 35.
Police indicated earlier that they believe the victim committed suicide. They are now investigating the incident as an "accidental fatality." Police have not cited the driver of the bus, who the band claims was "severely shaken up by the accident."
Dropkick Murphys were traveling to Dallas, then Tulsa, following a show on Saturday night at Backstage Live in San Antonio. The group cancelled their planned show Sunday in Tulsa and are expected to recommence their tour in Mexico City on Wednesday.

Boston Globe reports that
Clark spoke to a family member prior to the accident to say he was on his way home. Relatives believe that he was trying to cross the interstate and that he did not commit suicide.
Clark leaves behind a 19-month-old son, Aiden, and a fiancee, Danielle Phillips. The family set up a
GoFundMe campaign to assist Phillips with funeral costs and other expenses. It has already surpassed its goal of $25,000.
The family's statement also thanked the band for their handling of the incident.
“In our loss, our sympathies goes out to The Dropkick Murphys Band Members & Bus Driver involved. We would like to thank them for recognizing that a loss of life did happen, that our family is grieving, and we commend the way the band & driver handled this loss.”
