Luminaria: Arts Night in San Antonio

Release Date: 2009-03-11

The second annual Luminaria has arrived. Last year’s ambitious debut pulled in a rumored 100,000 people, so it’s difficult to find anyone in town unaware of this large-scale event, yet, just in case: Luminaria is a full day and night of artistic celebration. With more than 1,000 artists showcasing a range of events and performances from traditional to multi-media, no artistic discipline will be left behind. More is more is one way to describe the event. Though Luminaria is spread across the city, the main action is downtown around the Alamo and Houston Street. Look for the lights as downtown becomes one large stage. Peruse the Current’s picks and extensive coverage, page 21. Free, all day and night, various locations around town. luminariasa.org
