One can only imagine the death stare that Gregg Popovich gave Belinelli for this bit of homeland press.
But fans of the Spurs and male anatomy can only hope that this is the start of a new trend — Tony Parker in his birthday suit for GQ France, Patty Mills in the buff for GQ Australia, etc. For the new issue of GQ Italia, Spurs shooting guard Marco Belinelli strips down to his socks and hi-tops for a steamy reworking of a classic Sports Illustrated cover from the '70s.

As Dan Carson of Bleacher Report noted, the GQ cover vibes off a 1977 SI cover featuring Larry Bird as college hoops' secret weapon. But where the '70s shoot assumes that the secret weapon is Larry Legend, the GQ spread hints that the secret is Belinelli's penis (as the cheerleader on the left not-so-subtly implies).
