San Antonio Zoo Campaign to Acquire Geoffrey the Giraffe from Toys“R”Us Off to Slow Start

It's been a few weeks since Toys“R”Us closed its last stores, and it looks like the company's spokesman Geoffrey the Giraffe still hasn't found a new home.

On June 29, when the final Toys“R”Us stores closed, this super sad photo of Geoffrey leaving an empty store got all '90s babies in their feelings.

As the era came to a close, the San Antonio Zoo started a GoFundMe and reached out to Toys“R”Us to take over the rights to the essence that is Geoffrey so he can serve as an ambassador for giraffe conservation. The zoo hopes that the $100,000 donation goal will be enough to get the company's attention, while the funds would benefit the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.

So far, the zoo has raised less than $2,000.

If you're interested in bringing Geoffrey to San Antonio and helping save giraffes, you can donate here.
